As a very smart Melanie Griffith once said in Working Girl, "If you want to be taken seriously, you gotta have serious hair." This job search has been exhausting from an emotional point of view but, let's face it, it does leave me with some extra time on my hands, which only intensified my hair ADD (I get bored with whatever cut and color I have in about six months). So I decided it was time for a trim. In an ideal world, this would be my dream hair.

Essa procura de trabalho é bem cansativa mas mesmo assim me deixou com um tempinho extra na agenda que não ajudou nada meu tédio crônico com o meu cabelo (eu tenho que fazer alguma mudança a cada seis meses). Então eu decidi que estava na hora de uma visita ao cabeleireiro. Num mundo ideal, esse seria o corte de cabelo dos meus sonhos.
In a dream world, I would also have Emma Stone's color, but just like hers and Brigitte Bardot's bangs, I can't pull it off. The latter because I have thick, wavy hair and the first because my skin is way too dark for that shade of red. So I told my stylist to go a little lighter on the highlights and get as close as possible to my hair inspirations.

A franja porque eu tenho cabelo ondulado bem grosso e a cor porque minha pele é muito escura para esse tom de ruivo. Então eu falei para minha cabeleireira tentar fazer o que dava para ficar o mais parecido possível com as minhas inspirações.

What do you guys, think? A little lighter, a littler shorter. I had to wait a couple of weeks for it to fall into place (why is it that always needs to happen, by the way?) but I'm really loving it, specially the so many different tones of highlights there are now, from blonde to caramel to hazel and chocolate brown.

O que vocês acham? Um pouco mais claro, um pouco mais curto. Eu tive que esperar umas duas semanas para ele se assentar (porque que isso sempre acontece, hein?) mas eu gostei bastante, especialmente os muitos tons de reflexos que eu tenho agora, desde bem claro, ao caramelo e chocolate.
I put it up in a bardot-esque poof for the NKOTBSB (that's New Kids on the Block + Backstreet Boys, get it?) concert I went to last Friday. And because I take my annual (yep, annual) return to teenage fanhood very seriously, I chose shorts, a tunic and flats as an outfit so there was no pulling, holding or hurting coming in the way of my fun!

Eu prendi a parte de cima quando eu fui no show do NKOTBSB (New Kids on the Block + Backstreet Boys, entendeu?) na sexta passada. E como eu levo muito a sério meu retorno anual (sim, sim, anual) aos meus dias de fã adolescente, eu fui de shorts, uma túnica e sapatilha para não ter que me preocupar com nada atrapalhando, incomodando e machucando durante o show.
